Every year, the American Library Association releases their ALA Rainbow List, which is, according to their website, "a bibliography of books with significant gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender content, and which are aimed at youth, birth through age 18" (glbtrt.ala.org). Their aim is to probide youth with high-quality books that reflect LGBT experiences in every genre. The Rainbow List is released every year in January, and this is their eighth year running, with book lists stretching back to 2008.
